The Department of Relations at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana College has been shortlisted as the winner of two awards at 36e Annual Educational Advertising Awards Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. The Educational Advertising Awards are the nation’s largest educational advertising competition. This year, more than 2,000 applications were received from more than 1,000 colleges and universities in fifty states and several foreign countries.
The College Relations team, made up of Casey Curtis, Communications Coordinator, and Caley Pennington, Graphic and Web Design Coordinator, took home the Gold Award for “Spotlight Magazine Program“And the Merit Award for”UAHT Chancellor Research Website. “
“Connecting current and future students with potential jobs, professional responsibilities and salaries in the programs we offer was the goal of creating Program Spotlight magazine,” said Curtis. “The magazine turned out to be one of the favorite articles of our recruiters. It helps them connect the dots between our curricula and the way they connect to the real world. Often times, students don’t realize how there are good, well-paying jobs they can train for right here at UAHT, and this magazine helps them open their eyes to those jobs.
UAHT recently completed a Chancellor Search for almost a year. As part of the research, the College Relations Department created a dedicated website to facilitate the process. “We built the Chancellors Search website as part of the plan to attract quality candidates to apply and to help them have a one-stop-shop for learning more about the College and the Southwest region of the RA, ”Curtis said. “The site allowed applicants to find the job profile, learn about the search process and see highlights about the UAHT and the Hope and Texarkana area. The website proved to be a great tool for the research process as it generated traffic from eight countries, one US territory, and three hundred and seven cities. More importantly, it has helped the college acquire a world-class pool of applicants for the position.
“We are grateful to have received these two awards. It’s nice to work for an institution that allows us to use our creativity to help build a better future for our students and our community. Our department plans to continue to do everything in its power to make UAHT a bright spot in our region, ”said Curtis.
