Fall 2022 instruction at Sierra College began August 22 with improved enrollment, new comprehensive student support programs, and a redesigned website.

“The year is off to a good start,” said Willy Duncan, superintendent and president of Sierra College. “Enrollment is up this fall and we look forward to supporting our students in their educational goals.”

Student Services and Support

This year, Sierra College students will have access to a comprehensive and intentional new suite of services with Sierra Supports, a proactive success network dedicated to helping students succeed every step of the way. Students are supported by an assigned team including an advisor, support specialist and financial aid professional who will be in regular contact to help students progress towards their goals.

Campus access and free public transit

Sierra College campuses and locations in Rocklin, Nevada County, Tahoe-Truckee and Roseville Center are open and student parking permits are not required for Fall 2022.

Students can take advantage of free bus transportation by simply showing Sierra College ID when boarding a Roseville Transit, Placer County Transit, Auburn Transit, Nevada County Connects and/or Tahoe Truckee Area Regional bus Transit (TART).

Redesigned and updated student-centric website

Sierra College launched an updated, student-centered website this year that better represents the opportunities and services available with Sierra College. The Sierra College website is our most important public communication tool. With a mobile-friendly design and a new content management system, users can navigate intuitively on any device and content owners will find it easier to maintain.

The design of the website is based on feedback from focus groups including current and prospective students, faculty, and staff, as well as industry best practices. The website supports a goal of the district’s Guided Pathways for Education Equity and Completion strategic plan. The site was developed by Sierra College’s marketing department with support from an extended website redesign project team representing stakeholders across the college, and in partnership with web design agency iFactory.
