Conwy County City Council’s Discharge Team is organizing a week of themed events and launching a new website developed for and with care-leavers.
This will take place during National Leavers of Care Week, the world’s largest celebration of children and youth with caregiving experience, which will take place this year from October 25-31.
Advisor Cheryl Carlisle, Conwy’s Welfare and Protection Cabinet Member, said: “Our role as parent companies is one of the most important parts of being an advisor and a role we all take on very. seriously.
“We want the best for our youth and we know that the transition from a child in care to a child leaving care is important.
“It is our responsibility to make sure these young people receive the support, care and protection they need.
“We would love to hear from Conwy’s ex-patients, past and present, to contribute to the new website and participate in the week’s activities.
“This will be an opportunity to learn from the stories of other young people leaving care, to obtain practical advice on various subjects, to participate in activities and to meet personal advisers.
The new Small Steps Big Future website for people discharging from care will launch on Monday, October 25.
