Cannondale SmartSense is a Finalist and Receives Honorable Mention at Fast Company’s 2022 Innovation by Design Awards

Cannondale’s SmartSense was honored as a 2022 Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards Finalist in the Transportation category and received an Honorable Mention in the Wellness category.

The Innovation by Design Awards, found in the October 2022 issue of Fast Company, honor designers and companies that solve today’s most critical problems and anticipate tomorrow’s pressing problems. The competition, now in its 11th year, showcases a range of blue-chip companies, emerging startups and hungry young talent. It is one of the most coveted design awards in the industry.

Cannondale has opened the door to road cycling with the introduction of its SmartSense technology, instilling confidence and adding convenience to cycling through an actively intelligent system of lights and radar. It is the first technology of its kind to actively communicate with the rider, the bike and the environment powered by a single battery.

New categories included Accessible Design, Automotive, Circular Design, Enterprise, Experience Design, Hospitality and Rapid Response.

Judges include renowned designers from a variety of disciplines, business leaders from some of the world’s most innovative companies, and Fast Company’s own writers and editors. Entries are judged on the key ingredients of innovation: functionality, originality, beauty, sustainability, user insight, cultural impact and business impact.
