Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its March Teens of the Month. Students are selected by their respective schools based on their scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service to the school and community. Note: Elks officials said Sebring did not provide a teen of the month.
Jane Miller, daughter of Kirk and Amy Miller, plays soccer and is on the track team. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Culture Club, High School Choralaires, Student Senate, and was a state delegate for the Buckeye Girls. Miller is a volunteer at his church and a member of Carnation City Players. She plans to attend college and major in theology/religious studies.
Henry Wang, son of FuFu Wang and Ruchen Wang, plays soccer and is an ethnic minority college athlete. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and is a sports medicine career technology student. Wang plans to attend Ohio State University and major in exercise science to become a physical therapist.
Cailor Slack, daughter of Mark Slack and Tara Bitzel, plays lacrosse and is part of a marching band. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Band Council, Hope Squad, Spirit Club, Spanish Club, Key Club, and Social Injustice Academy. Slack plans to go to college and get a doctorate in psychology and a minor in sociology.
Robert Ganzer, son of Cara Ganser and Robert Ganser, is on the track and cross-country teams. He is four times state qualified in cross-country. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Council and the Spanish Club. Ganser plans to attend the University of Cincinnati and major in business and sports management while continuing to run.
Taylor Maurer, daughter of Aaron and Wendy Maurer, plays travel softball and participates in the Horticulture Career Technology Program. She is president of the Marlington chapter of the FFA. Maurer plans to attend Aultman School of Health Sciences and Nursing to become a registered nurse.
Logan Waite, son of Richard and Joanna Waite, plays tennis and was a state delegate for the Buckeye Boys. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Select Vocal Ensemble, Duke Street Honors Choir, Marlington Chorale, Marlington High School Musicals and Carnation City Players. Waite plans to go to college to study biology and possibly become a ranger.
Rylee Buccini, daughter of Rose Hunt, is on the game day and competition cheerleading squads and runs the track. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Pep Club, Student Council and SADD. She volunteers with the Salvation Army as a bell ringer, Special Olympics, YMCA Unity Walk, and is a youth cheerleading coach. She plans to attend Kent State University to become a guidance counselor.
Good Logan, son of Laura Good and David Good, plays soccer and golf and is part of the jazz band. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, International Circle and Youth Group. Good plans to go to university to major in physics.
Guadalupe Obrajero, daughter of Josefina Martinez and Dionisio Obrajero, plays football and is a member of the Key Club. She volunteers at the school concession stand and with her church youth group. She plans to go to college to get a nursing degree.
Cole Bautista, son of Mark Bautista and Valerie Bautista, plays football and baseball, and is captain of both in his senior year. Cole plans to go to college to pursue a career in graphic design while playing baseball.
Samantha Tubbs, daughter of Dan and Susan Tubbs, plays tennis and is part of marching bands and orchestras. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Educators Rising, Yearbook Staff, FFA and 4-H. Tubbs plans to go to college to study integrated math education in grades 7-12.
Nicholas Wilson, son of Darrell and Nichole Wilson, plays football, basketball and baseball. He is an EBC scholarship athlete. Wilson plans to attend the University of Washington and Jefferson and major in business and sports while playing football.
